Chocolate Cake (Healthier version)

Feeling like something sweet?  Something chocolate? No sugar, no butter, no oil!!!   I have no idea regarding the calorie count but I am sure it is lower than a typical chocolate cake.

Prep Time: 30 minutes   Cook Time: Approx 35-45 min (depends on your oven)

Ingredients:

  • 2 big bananas
  • 1/2 cup of yoghurt (I used plain but you could use vanilla &/or greek)
  • 1/3 cup honey
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 tbsp peanut butter
  • 1 egg
  • 1 & 1/2 cups all purpose flour
  • 1 & 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/3 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips
  • Some more chocolate chips to sprinkle on top

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
  2. Spray either a bundt pan or a square pan with cooking spray.
  3. Mix bananas, yoghurt, honey, vanilla and peanut butter in a bowl. Blend until smooth, 1-2 minutes
  4. Add an egg & mix again.
  5. Add the flour, cocoa powder, and baking soda, mix until incorporated.
  6. Add the 1/2 cup of chocolate chips, mix.
  7. Pour the cake into the prepared pan. Sprinkle the top of the cake with additional chocolate chips if desired.
  8. Bake for 35-45 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the centre comes out clean/dry.
