How timely?! Just finished my juice cleanse and now I am posting a Brownie recipe?! Ok, truth be told, I made these about a week ago. I found this on the internet only after I saw one of my Twitter friends post that she had made them. I honestly had never even tasted Dr. Pepper before…so it intrigued me. If I have tasted it before, it has been so long ago, I have forgotten. Her ratio of ingredients are different and are listed below in my review comments.
Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 3 large eggs
- 1/4 cup Dr. Pepper
- 1 cup all purpose flour
- 1/3 cup cocoa powder
- 1/2 tsp kosher salt
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Add butter and chocolate chips to a microwave safe bowl and cook for 30 seconds, stir and microwave for another 30 seconds. Stir until smooth, repeat if necessary.
- Add brown sugar and eggs and mix until combined. Stir in Dr. Pepper. Add flour, cocoa powder and salt. Stir until combined.
- Pour into a greased cast iron skillet or baking pan. (I used a 10 inch skillet but a 9×9 baking pan will work too)
- Bake for approx 25-30 minutes
- Remove from oven and allow to cool before slicing.
Annette’s Review
Come on, it is brownies! These were awesome! I saw a few verions of this recipe…. See below for the list of ingredients my twitter friend had posted. I will have to try that version to see if there is any difference…but I may have to hold off since I am trying to eat healthy. Who am I kidding? I will try making them and absolutely will be tasting them…. Give it a go…I think either recipe would be good. Easy to throw together too…
- 1 1/4 cup flour
- 1 cup sugar
- 2/3 cup of cocoa powder
- 1 can Dr. Pepper
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips
- dash of cinnamon
Incredible story there. What happened after? Take care!
Hi Vanetta, Sorry for my late response…haven’t been blogging as much since Covid. What happened after eating brownies?
Hmm is anyone else encountering problems with the images on this blog loading? I’m trying to find out if its a problem on my end or if it’s the blog. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
I can see the images fine. I am thinking it may be on your end. Maybe try again?
